Prince Charles has been told that he may enjoy the same level of popularity as his mother Queen Elizabeth II when he becomes the next king of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

Royal expert Tim Ewart told Yahoo’s The Royal Box that the monarchy is popular largely because of the Queen.
“A large part of the popularity of the monarchy is based on the personal popularity of the Queen,” said Ewart.
Ewart added: “Will that popularity transfer to her son? An open question, we don’t know.
“There are suggestions that he’s not as popular as she is. We know that.”
Several surveys show the Queen as the most popular royal family member, with Charles coming in behind both his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Charles has been his mother since being titled Prince of Wales in 1969, however has been taking on more solo duties recently.
Royal author Phil Dampier revealed: “He is starting to do that already, being at the state opening of Parliament and the Commonwealth conference.
“He is starting to take over a lot of the duties and doing the investitures.”
