The 44-year-old Norwegian royal was forced to cancel a public engagement at the end of November because the condition left her feeling like she’d been ‘overindulging on the ferryboat to Denmark’.

The mother-of-three, who is married to Crown Prince Haakon, explained to Norwegian radio station P3:I turned my head quickly, and it was like the whole world began to move.

‘I began to sweat and felt nauseous — I thought I’d started early menopause.’

The condition is temporary, but it can return at any moment.
