Prince Harry’s ex Chelsy Davy didn’t appear to have a care in the world as she attended a swanky event in London just days after Harry announced his engagement to American actress Meghan Markle.
The Zimbabwe-born blonde attended the Brilliant is Beautiful gala at Claridge’s Hotel in London, just hours after Harry and his finacee made their first official royal outing as an engaged couple in Nottingham, England.
The 32-year-old lawyer wore a long black dress with a strip of mesh panelling above the knees and a sparkly bodice, which she accessorized with a short-sleeve black jacket.
And in an interesting twist, Harry’s aunt, Sarah Ferguson was also in attendance at the event.
Chelsy and Harry dated on and off for about seven years, starting in 2004 after the pair met in Cape Town on his gap year between Eton College and the army.
However, despite Harry’s recent engagement news, it appears Chelsy is glad things didn’t work out with her and the prince.
“It was so full-on: crazy and scary and uncomfortable. I found it very difficult when it was bad. I couldn’t cope,” she said to The Times in 2016 about the media attention surrounding her relationship with Harry.
“It was nuts,” she said. “That’s also why I wanted to go back to Africa. Now it’s calm, it’s fine.”
