Kate Middleton’s mum may have been to blame for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s brief separation back in 2004, according to a new report.
The royal pair are believed to have had a ‘trial separation’ after finishing their degrees at St Andrew’s University in Scotland after it was said William needed ’space.’
However, The Sun’s former Royal Editor Duncan Larcombe has a very different opinion on why the royal relationship broke down.
In William & Kate: The Journey he reveals that Kate’s “family background” might have played a part, suggesting that the royal family used to poke fun at Kate’s background behind her back.
“They used to say ‘doors to manual’ whenever they saw Kate Middleton,” a reference to her mother Carole’s former career as an air hostess.
“One or two people in William’s inner circle may have that view,” Larcombe continued.
