Her Majesty has revealed she may not be here today if it weren't for her personal protection officer.
While chatting to one of her guests at Tuesday's Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, the Queen recounted a terrifying moment which occurred back in 1994.

Lucy Stafford who engaged in a conversation with the 93-year-old on the day told Hello!: "The Queen was very funny, she reminisced about how her bodyguard had caught a cricket ball flying towards her head at a match in 1994. She said she would have been dead if it hadn't been caught."
Lucy was invited to the lavish event, which was also attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, after setting up Hospital Love Bundles, an organisation that sends care packages to young people who are regularly in and out of hospital.
She later took to Instagram to share some photos from the special day.
"What an incredible day! So honoured to have been invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace," she wrote.
"We had the most delicious afternoon tea in the gardens and even finished the day by meeting the Queen (who told us about how a cricket ball almost killed her in 1994)...Can't quite believe it.
