When it came to selecting her finalist, coach Rita Ora was faced with a tough choice.

“I’d like to think that we saved the best till last,” she told both Emily and Tarryn after their final performance.

Ultimately it was Tarryn she sent through to the grand finale, the judge giving some kind words for the departing Emily.

“Emily, you’re only 18 and you’ve taken everything I’ve thrown at you and smashed it out of the park.”

It’s been a huge first year as a coach on The Voice Australia for international superstar Jason Derulo.

In the Semi-Final, he was faced with his toughest decision yet as he had to choose between Ethan and Callum for the one spot in the finale.

“Big C, you give us those huge musical theatre notes that just blow the roof off this arena,” Jason said.

“Ethan, you surprise us every single time with knowing who you are as an artist. So, the artist that I’ll be taking through to the Grand Finale is….Ethan!”

Unfortunately for the beautiful Bella, coach Guy chose Charlie and not Bella to continue to The Voice Australia grand finale for 2023.

“Bella, I know there’s a lot of people watching through this journey that love country music, and just love music in general, that have really connected with you,” he emotionally told the singer prior to her elimination.

Despite the rules of the Battle Rounds stating that one singer per battle would progress to the next stage of the competition, judge Rita Ora chose to send both Elsa and Gezel home in favour of progressing other members of her team further in the competition.

“How is that fair for the two young girls, they battled for no reason in the end 😠,” one confused fan commented on social media.

Coach Jason stunned Alex, Andrew, and their fellow battle-round competitor Callum Warrender when he offered them all a spot in the semi-finals as a trio supergroup.

“Separately you are really unbelievable. Together as a group you are unstoppable; so, my question to you is: will the three of you as a unit join me for the semi-final?” he posed to the men.

On behalf of the group, Callum responded to Jason’s extraordinary proposal: “The offer is so incredible, and it just warms our hearts that you even think that is a possibility….but together we have decided that we are singular artists. We believe in ourselves, we believe in our artistry enough separately that one of us still deserves a spot in that Semi-Final.”

A shocked Jason then made the tough decision to send through Callum to the next round of the competition, eliminated Alex and Andrew.
