They’ve been called the villains of this season of The Block due to their run-ins with the other contestants and Sara’s diva-like demands.
But for NSW couple Sara, 31, and Hayden, 45, the real drama has been going on behind the scenes.

In fact, Sara reveals construction project manager Hayden threatened to end their marriage during filming.
‘Hayden threatened to divorce me several times throughout the series,’ Sara reveals.‘But I won’t give him the satisfaction. He’s not rich enough for me to take him for everything.’
The pair, who share 14-month-old daughter Harlow, have been at each other’s throats from day one, bickering over their renovation decisions.
And Sara admits it’s driven a wedge between them.
‘Hayden is always telling me I know nothing about building and I think I do, so we fight about that,’ she explains.
The brunette beauty admits the stress of the show got the better of her.
‘Hayden became my punching bag, I took things out on him,’ she says.

The two ‘villains’ also caused a stir on Sunday night’s episode, when they openly slammed the judges for their negative critique.
Sara and Hayden were advised many times against their vertical garden during the planning process of their bathroom. But, the fiery couple decided to ignore the warnings and go ahead with the feature piece.
The two confidently plugged their garden before the judges arrival, however the execution was quickly shut down by all three judges, – Neale Whitaker, Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer – prompting Sara to hit back.
Neale said, ‘I feel like this bathroom is not big enough.’
Speaking of the vertical garden, Neale added: ‘This thing behind me feels like two other people and I’m completely overwhelmed by it.’
‘It feels so over the top and it’s just an ugly choice – It just doesn’t feel refined. It’s not high-end and I also find it quite dated.’

‘I was expecting great things and I am disappointed,’ Neal finished.
Shaynna echoed his sentiments, adding: ‘It’s very weak styling. ‘It’s just shove, shove, shove, bang.’
Although Darren added a slight compliment, saying the tiles ‘worked really nicely’, his overall impression wasn’t particularly positive and he expressed confusion as to who the potential buyer would be.
Sara, noticeably annoyed, could be seen rolling her eyes as the judges spoke.
Hayden said, ‘We definitely weren’t expecting that, we worked really hard. We took a risk and we thought that was worth taking.’
Sara then mustered: ‘It’s an art decor building and you have to pay some homage to that.’

Later, after the judges scores came in, Sara vented.
‘Are you f***ing serious?’ she screamed to partner Hayden in response to the numbers.
Hayden later said: ‘I thought we might have at least been in the middle.’
The couple came bottom with 21.5 points, several places below winners Courtney and Hans who scored 25.5.
