After a week of drama on The Block for couple Mitch and Mark, things have just gotten decidedly hotter for the pair, with shock allegations that they may have already locked in a potential buyer for their renovated St Kilda dwelling.

According to Melbourne’s popular Hughesy & Kate radio show, a caller has alleged that the duo may have an ‘unfair advantage’ thanks to a supposed deal with a buyer.

The couple have already raised eyebrows by installing an extra entertainment space, an unusual decision that might possibly be due to requests from a potential buyer, according to claims aired on the radio show.

Indeed, according to a producer who spoke on air, the boys have outrageously been accused of ‘building to spec’ by the unnamed caller – a claim that was not backed up by any proof.

‘[Mitch and Mark] already got a pre-determined buyer, and that’s why they did the entertainment area rather than a master bedroom, because they are actually building to spec for a buyer,’ the staff member alleged on the show.

‘That’s alleged, obviously, we can’t say that’s for sure,’ responded host Dave Hughes.

The speculation – which has so far not been denied or confirmed by Nine or the couple – left Hughes wondering aloud if such a tactic was allowed.

‘You know what actually, you can do that,’ said the star, who has famously bought some very expensive property via the show before. ‘I’ve been asked in the past actually if I have any designs to put in before they started.

‘I’ve had that approach through a real estate agent.’

The homes in the former Oslo Hotel are expected to go for in excess of $3 million each. It’s quite the mark up for the former backpacker hostel.

It’s not the first drama to ensnare the contestants this week. The Block‘s Scott Cam had a fiery showdown with Mitch and Mark that has dragged out over multiple episodes.

Scott says he is ‘horrified’ by the scandal over perceived homophobia on the show, after the couple kicked back at apparent insinuations about their alleged living habits and tastes possibly inconveniencing any neighbours of the dwelling they are creating.

After a tense scene in which the boys challenged Cam over perceived innuendo about the way they live their lives, the couple labelled Scott’s critical words about the placement of their living room as ‘inappropriate and offensive.’

Both parties have since apologised to each other, but not before the whole torrid drama was milked of every last drop by Channel Nine over multiple overwraught promos and episodes.
