Australian Survivor has delved into what’s said to be its toughest season yet – following the theme of Brains V Brawn.
WATCH BELOW: Australian Survivor 2021 comes to outback Queensland
This season, the strongest and most strategic minds go head-to-head in the harsh Australian outback, as they fight for the winning title of Australian Survivor 2021.
It all takes place in the outback of North West Queensland, with host Jonathan LaPaglia having said that it was much tougher than the seasons that took place in Fiji.
“They were tough conditions. I mean the heat, and distances between locations – we were travelling 3-4 hours every day on unpaved road,” Jonathan told New Idea.
So, to find out who couldn’t survive this season, keep scrolling to see every eliminated contestant so far.

Phil
‘Crochet king’ Phil was the first to go, leaving the Brains tribe after being voted out by their fellow tribe members.
“ROBBED and GUTTED. I’m not even sure how or why everything happened the way it did,” Phil wrote on Instagram upon their exit.
“I’ve been a fan of the show for as long as I can remember and being a part of it was a dream come true, but I’d be lying if I wasn’t extremely disappointed,” they added.
“Though I guess if I was going to be the first out, at least it was a crazy twist that had to be used to get rid of me!”

Janelle
First to go from the Brawn tribe was hardworking mum-of-three Janelle, who was just one vote away from an elimination tie with a fellow tribe member.
Taking to Instagram after her exit, Janelle said: “The trick is to realise that after giving your best, there’s nothing more to give.”
“Win or lose the game is finished. It’s over ! It’s time to forget and prepare for the next challenge,” she said.

Gavin
AFL legend Gavin was sent home after the ultimate blindside by his fellow Brawn tribe members, where a hidden immunity idol was played at tribal council and saved another castaway.
“What can I say, all good things come to an end,” Gavin took to Instagram to write after his exit.

Benny
“The Tribe may have spoken, but it seems like Benny had the last, blistering words. See you at the reunion,” Survivor Australia’s offical Instagram page wrote.
After Brawn lost the immunity challenge a third time in a row, Benny was sent packing after he became an easy target for the tribe.

Mitch
Doctor Mitch was voted out from the Brains tribe after a major blindside elimination from Australian Survivor.
“With the good doctor gone, who will help stitch this tribe back together?” the Survivor Instagram penned.

Joey
There have been quite a few blindsides this season, but this one really came out on top, with the Brains tribe coming together to take down Joey.
“Unfortunately I won’t be this season’s sole survivor but I will be leaving this crazy game with the same big smile that I came in with… What an experience!” Joey took to Instagram after his exit.
“To my fellow castaways, I’ve got nothing but love and respect for each and every one of you ❤. You guys are all amazing and I feel privileged to have met you.
“Hayles, you played me like a banjo tonight and executed that blindside perfectly, well played legend,” he said.

Daini
He was known for blurting out his catchphrase ‘spicy’ whenever things got particularly heated within his tribe, and Daini had to face the heat when he was sent home after a seemingly blundered vote.
“I didn’t ask for this but I’m beyond thankful to have been blessed to have this opportunity and to connect with my brawn and brain tribe mates and share some stories and adventures that only we know,” Daini said.
“I had never really been camping before and hadn’t tried yabbies before this point! I threw myself into uncomfortable territory and forced myself to get amongst this and give it my all!”

Shannon
It was a tribal council full of bombshells, and unfortunately for Shannon, her game was extinguished after the votes swung her way.
“Playing Survivor is not only physically draining but mentally as well. I truly tested my mind, body and spirit and feel so empowered coming out of it,” she said on Instagram after her exit.
“I’ve made lifelong friends and realised I do have a competitive side to myself.”

Georgia
Survivor is all about the numbers, and unfortunately for Georgia, she found herself part of the minority, and had her torch snuffed as a result.
“So gutted not to be this years brainiest Survivor, but to have my torch snuffed on my 35th birthday was probably one of the most thrilling moments of my life!” she took to Instagram to write.
“The most common question I get asked: Why did you do Survivor? Well, for me it was about testing my mental strength. I wanted to see if I could show up for myself each day, not as a Mum or a Wife or a Psychologist, but as a woman with just the clothes on my back.
“I wanted to see who I was without everything that so easily becomes your identity. I wanted to test myself in a way I have never been tested before. Who am I when everything is stripped away?!”

Rachel
Rachel was voted off Australian Survivor during an intense Tribal Council where the votes were neck and neck between her and two other tribe members.
“I couldn’t outwit but I showed some grit. I didn’t outplay or get my way, and I didn’t outlast but man, I had a blast!” she took to Instagram to write.
“What a privilege to play this game! I made some heartfelt connections and met some straight up beautiful humans @georgiaray.psychologist @iamlaurawells my favourite molls! And the OG 🧠tribe were a really quirky, intelligent and fun group of people.”

Simon
“Ladies and gentleman… THAT is how you execute a blindside! The tribe has spoken,” Simon took to Instagram following his exit.
With a season full of blindsides, this one certainly took the cake, where Simon was voted out with not one, but two immunity idols.
“Not going to lie… that one hurts with 2 idols. But I can’t even be mad about that 👏🏽 Well played… to the ENTIRE tribe. That will go down in history.”

Kez
Another castaway was sent home with an idol, after Kez was voted out straight after making it through to merge.
“‘What did I just do?!’ was one of the first things I said when I walked out of tribal followed by ‘Lets go get burgers’,” Kez took to Instagram after the episode aired.
“But man survivor was the wildest and most rewarding thing I have ever experienced.
“Coming out of the game, I’ve learnt you can be happy with minimal belongings and that FRIENDS , laughter and adventure are the key to true to happiness.”

Chelsea
Unfortunately, Chelsea’s time on Survivor came to an abrupt end, after she suffered a medical emergency that saw her pulled from the game.
“Leading up to my last week, my weight was dropping quite rapidly and I could feel my body was almost shutting down because of it. On the morning of day 27 I started having extreme headaches and regular dizzy spells. After the last tribal council I was taken by ambulance to the hospital to get some blood tests done. My body was so dehydrated which made it impossible for the nurse to take blood so I was then put on 2x 6 hour IV drips overnight. After doing some more tests I was diagnosed with an inner ear infection (Labyrinthitis) which was effecting my balance quiet significantly and on top of that obviously very dehydrated,” she explained on Instagram.
“After 20 hours in hospital the nurses weren’t confident in my condition and wanted me to stay another night on the IV again but I knew if I stayed, I would be out of the game. Eventually I was discharged from the hospital but soon after the survivor medics decided to pull me from the game and to be honest I didn’t want to put my body through it anymore either. I have big plans in my MMA career in the future and that was at the forefront of my mind. It’s an absolute devastating way to leave the game but health comes before anything.”

Baden
Baden and Hayley were both voted off, but in a surprise twist, they were given a chance at redemption and had to face off in a duel challenge.
And while he held on for as long as he could, Baden lost to Hayley, and she took a spot back in the game and Baden was officially sent home.
“A Challenge that was never going to be good for me, Hayley could have sat there for hours if need be. The only consolation is that I was beaten by a fierce competitor and genuine, Sole Survivor contender,” he said on Instagram after the episode aired.
But that’s not the last we’ll see of him as Baden was named as the first member for Jury.

Gerald
Gerald found himself right in the middle of a blindside, and his torch was snuffed after an Idol was used to save someone else, leaving him at the mercy of the majority vote.
“When the writing is on the wall, you have to accept fate with a smile, embrace the future and what is to come,” he shared on Instagram after his exit.
Before leaving the show, Gerald was announced as the second member of Jury.

Laura
Laura became the third member of Jury when she was sent home by just one vote – after the entire tribe voted for Cara but George played a secret Immunity Idol for her, which left Cara’s vote on Laura the only one in play.
“Torched is officially snuffed. What a wild ride. 35 days sleeping in the dirt, being absolutely filthy- it’s definitely time for a shower,” she said.
“Thanks to all of the absolute legends I met playing this game and the entire production, Most of all Larry the snake handler.
“Time for some jury villa food feasts!”

Emmett
It was close-call between Emmett and George in a dramatic Tribal Council, but Emmett was eventually named as the latest evictee and had his torch snuffed out.
Speaking to the cameras after his elimination, Emmett said he wanted to go down in Survivor history as “one of the greatest plant-based Superman challenge beasts ever.”

Andrew
Andrew found himself in a minority alliance after Hayley flipped on him during Tribal Council and remained in the Brains-strong alliance.
“Well and that’s that Chuch, what an awesome experience hanging out with so many amazing people from different walks of life,” he wrote on Instagram.
“No regrets on how I played the game, but maybe I should have watched the show before going on there Haha.
“Big thanks to all of production and the people of Cloncurry which made such a professional effort to create the greatest game show on earth in one of the harshest environments known to man.”

Dani
The ‘Alpha’ of the tribe, Dani was sent home after she was tied between Cara and Flick, and the tribe then chose to place their votes on her as the final decision.
“I’m absolutely stoked having made it to the top 6 and lasting 43 days in the Australian outback,” Dani said.
“Big thanks to the entire cast and crew who made this amazing experience possible! I have definitely grown from this experience and made some epic friends for life.
“Shoutout to @isuzuute_aus for letting me leave the outback in style in a brand new D-max. @kfcaustralia for the dream wedding inspiration and @tylenol for the outback retreat fit for a Queen.”

Wai
Another victim to George’s incredible strategy, Wai was sent home after George and Cara stacked their votes on her as a split vote in case Flick had an idol – which she did – leaving Wai with the majority votes.
“I can’t begin to articulate what an incredible journey this has been. From being 100% certain I was going home on Day 2 to making it all the way to Day 44 (and wearing an Immunity Necklace around my neck!) – this experience has just been absolutely extraordinary,” Wai said.
“I have learned so so much from all of my amazing tribe mates and have surprised myself so so much with what I managed to achieve!”

Cara
And two became one! Just like that, the epic alliance between Cara and George was broken after the two turned on each other, and unfortunately for Cara, she was eliminated.
“Making it onto Survivor was a dream come true for me – let alone making it Day 46 and FINAL FOUR! I am both humbled by the lessons learned and proud of my achievements,” she said after her exit aired.
“Thanks so much to all the wonderful faceless members of the crew who worked their butts off behind the scenes (like herding cats as they say), long hours in the scorching heat and bitter cold. What an epic journey experienced within the incredible Australian Outback.
“Lastly good luck to my wonderful friends who make up the amazing final 3 and have made this journey so very special for me. And to you King George – Thank you. The other half of our dynamic duo who caused chaos and still had fun.”
