Just a day after it was revealed controversial couple Simon and Izzy are headed for a break up on Bride & Prejudice, viewers are starting to see the cracks in their relationship.
Tonight on the show, Izzy’s mum Bobbi made the statement that she would not give her daughter her blessing to marry ‘narcissistic sociopath’ Simon.
In an emotional meeting, the 28-year-old broke down into tears when her mum presented her with a necklace which she wore during her pregnancy with Izzy.
Speaking to New Idea, Izzy provides some insight into how she was feeling in that moment.
‘I hadn’t seen mum and my friend Amanda in so long because I’d been in Mexico and then came back for the show,’ she says.
‘So the only times I’d seen them was when they were sitting in front of me crying. I just wanted to reach out and tell them that I loved them.’
So why was the necklace to significant?
‘That was given to me by my paternal grandfather when she was pregnant with me so she’s in all these photos wearing that,’ she explains.
‘It’s just the most perfect symbol of her love for me. It just broke me. I love my mum so much and I know that even when she’s angry at me, she does everything out of love.’
On Tuesday it was first revealed Izzy would ‘walk out’ of the show in a new promo showing the troubled couple getting into a very heated argument.
After storming off, Izzy is seen telling Ange and Dylan, the engagement is over.
‘I’m done,’ she says.
Bride & Prejudice returns Monday at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
