Throughout Bride & Prejudice, viewers have continually see Hank’s conservative father Terry battle it out with his fiancé Lilly. And in episode 10 right up until the night of his wedding, Hank was unsure if his parents would make an appearance.
Margaret managed to bond with Lily, yet Terry was unable to approve of her claiming she was too outspoken and that his son would be better with a woman ‘who wouldn’t speak back’.
At times Terry was stubborn and rude to Lilly and Hank continuously sought his father’s apology to his bride-to-be.
Terry refused to apologise so in a last-ditch attempt, the night before the wedding Hank asked his father to turn up to the wedding as a way to make a peace offering.
“I don’t know if I can do that,” Terry insisted continually telling his son he didn’t understand why he had to apologise.
When their conversation ended Hank was unsure if he would make it and on their wedding day, two empty seats were left leaving Hank to believe his father would refuse to come.
Yet in a shock twist, Hank’s parents made it and he and Lilly were delighted.
“It means so much to Lilly and I to see them there,” Hank gushed.
Terry even shed a tear or two. “I’m not usually a man who cries,” Terry admitted.
And so the day turned out perfectly for Hank and Lilly and they can now move forward knowing they have Terry and Margaret’s support.
