Royals fans crowded outside St Mary’s Hospital in London hoping to catch a glimpse of the new royal prince were in for a surprise when they came across a royal sighting of a different kind.
Perched in the backseat of a black cab was a wax figure of a statue of the queen, which shocked onlookers as the taxi made its way down the street past the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's hospital.
Although no-one came forth to take credit for the bizarre stunt, people have taken to Twitter to praise the prankster for the eccentric hoax.
Well, you don't see that everyday!
The crowd who had been lining up for hours to see the royal baby were rewarded when Duchess Catherine and Prince William showed off their new baby on the steps outside the Lindo Wing.
Kate looked stunning in a red Jenny Packham dress and held the new arrival while her proud husband Prince William fondly said "we're very happy".
The happy couple then drove off to Kensington Palace to start life as the "Famous Five"
