The former journalist and royal biographer used to write in his diaries about interesting conversations he had with royals, aides or politicians.
“Prince Eddie describes how the Queen plans the annual family Christmas lunch down to the last detail," the entry on December 7 2007 reade.
“The grown-ups are in one big room, the children another.
“Towards the end of lunch, the doors are flung open and in rushes the horde.”
The diaries are being published following the death of Mr Rose in 2014.

It will be interesting on Remembrance Day - one of the most important days in the Royal Family's calendar, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Duke and Duchess Cambridge set to meet for the first time in months to attend the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Saturday 9 November.
