Queen Elizabeth first monarch in 100 years to give birth during reign
Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl revealed that Queen Elizabeth made the joke before Meghan Markle and Harry's baby Archie was born, as she didn't believe she'd be there to see it happen.
After speaking to a royal family friend, Katie wrote in Vanity Fair: “Not so long ago she joked that she probably wouldn’t be around to see Harry have children, but here she is at the age of 93, welcoming another baby.”
Queen Elizabeth has eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
With the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's firstborn, Archie Harrison who was born on May 6 being the most recent arrival.
The Duke and Duchess “wanted an intimate, peaceful setting in a place with such a special connection to Her Majesty,” a royal source told the publication.
The guest list will be kept small, with only 25 people present at the intimate gathering, and while the Queen herself is not thought to be attending, Meghan's mother, Doria will be there for the event.
“This is a beautiful milestone and they are excited to share it as a family first and then with the world,” said the source.
