For most families, whether you're royal or not, decorating the Christmas tree is a special occasion that is perfect for bonding, and it appears that the Danish royal family is no different!
The Danish Palace has released an intimate family video of Prince Frederik, Princess Mary and their children - Christian, Isabella, Vincent and Josephine - hanging ornaments on their extravagant tree at the Copenhagen Palace.
While their tree appears to be more lavish than most family trees, you can clearly see that the royal family have added their own personal touches to the decorations.
Many of the ornaments hanging on the tree, which are given close-ups throughout the video, appear to be handmade and one even shows a photo of Prince Christian in a wooden star.
Possibly a handmade gift from the youngster to his parents?
The video further shows Frederik climbing a tall ladder while Mary instructs the couples four children from the ground.
The end result, it appears, adheres to a very Danish aesthetic with things being kept simple.
A photo shared on the royal family’s official Instagram showed the finished product standing tall in the corner of the living room.
