WATCH this video to see why fans decided MONTHS ago that Eugenie was pregnant!
“Everyone suspected Eugenie was expecting but when she announced it to family over Easter and Beatrice added she was also pregnant and due the same day, everyone was in shock as it’s the last thing they expected to hear,” the royal insider revealed.
“The girls revealed how they are both due on December 1st and joked how they hope they go into labour at different times given they share the same gynaecologist and both want him to deliver their firstborns!”
According to the source, Beatrice, who is dating businessman Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, admitted it wasn’t planned and apologised to the Queen for falling pregnant out of wedlock but assured her grandmother that she would marry before her due date to follow tradition and protocol.
The source said: “The Queen was delighted for Eugenie, clasping her hands up over her mouth with glee and embracing her tightly, but her reaction towards Beatrice was far from the same and she made her disappointment clear – insisting that unless she married before the baby was born, her child wouldn’t be considered a royal or be privy to any royal protocol or entitled to anything her other grandchildren were.”
Despite this, the girls’ parents are delighted.
“Fergie and Andrew are ecstatic and can’t believe they’re expecting two grandchildren after willing and wishing it for so many years,” the source spills.
Last month, Fergie spoke to British TV program The One Show and confirmed that she would make an “excellent” grandmother.
“I used to write children’s books, and I am a child, I haven’t grown up,” she added.
Fergie has also previously spoken about how close they are as a family unit.
“A table goes best with four legs. A table can’t stand on three legs, really, so you have the duke and I, and the two girls.
"We’re a family unit and we lead by example. We support each other emotionally, and we support each other health- wise. At least every two weeks we sit down together and communicate, the four of us,” Fergie told Hello! magazine.
“I think the one thing I’ve done incredibly well – although I say it myself – is that I’m a really good mum. And I think that my girls show that.”
And, according to our source, Beatrice and Eugenie are said to be over the moon to be expecting together and thrilled to be going through their pregnancies side by side, as well as sharing the excitement of watching their little ones grow up together and share a special bond as cousins.
With baby news circling the sisters, The Sun newspaper also reported that wedding bells could soon be ringing for Beatrice – whose partner Edoardo is already a father to 2-year-old Wolfie from his previous relationship – as she is said to be eager to follow her younger sibling down the aisle.
“It wouldn’t surprise anyone if they got engaged within a short period of time,” the source revealed.
