According to Express.co.uk, Princess Beatrice's Norfolk Terrier, named Orange, became ill following a walk in Windsor Great Park.
Tragically, Princess Beatrice gave consent for her pet to be put down after it was clear the small dog would not recover.
The nature of the substance, and how it found its way in Windsor Great Park remains unclear, with a friend close to the royal telling The Sun, “No one seeks to know if the poison was a natural substance like a fungi, or if there is a dog-hating maniac on the loose."
The Princess, who is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, is reportedly "worried sick" at the thought of her dog being intentionally poisoned, with the same friend telling the publication, “Obviously Beatrice is keeping a close eye on her other pets.”
