And the news is certainly making royal officials extremely nervous, with Beatrice keeping quiet on all fronts.
‘The senior royal officials are incredibly anxious over the claims and are trying to get to the bottom of the whole scandal – but from what I understand, Beatrice is refusing to either confirm or deny the claims,’ spills the source.
And there’s been plenty of speculation about who the father of the child is.
The flame-haired beauty was last connected with CEO and lawyer James Williams after she was spotted getting cosy with him in Los Angeles.
But, it may have just been a dinner between friends as Williams’ girlfriend quickly shut the rumours down.
Sharing a photo of herself with Williams, Lucinda Aragon, a US reality star, confirmed she was in fact the CEO’s girlfriend, quashing the rumours Beatrice was dating the entrepreneur.
Before then, the 29-year-old royal was believed to be single after splitting with long-term boyfriend Dave Clark, who she dated for more than 10 years.
‘The big headache for the palace, of course, is who the father is. Obviously, Beatrice broke up with her boyfriend some time ago and there’s been no permanent man on the scene that they know of. So all these unknowns are just adding to the scandal.
‘And until Beatrice comes clean one way or the other, the speculation will just continue.’
Last week, the rumours continued to swirl as the princess was seen wearing a loose dress at Meghan and Harry’s wedding, and was refusing to drink any alcohol.
A few weeks before, she was showing similar behaviour, avoiding any bubbles at the Met Gala in New York.
Relationship-wise, it’s been a tough few years for the princess, after her ex Dave got engaged to girlfriend Lynn Anderson, just a few months after meeting her.
Beatrice was reportedly left ‘devastated’.
Before her split with Dave, she had given him an ‘ultimatum’ to make the relationship official, but they ended up drifting apart.
‘They talked it through and decided to take time apart to reflect on the future. They remain friends and the decision to break up was mutual,’ a source told the Daily Mail at the time.
In January this year, her younger sister, Eugenie, 27, announced her engagement to Jack Brooksbank, which led social media to be flooded with expressions of sympathy for Beatrice – with some asking if in royal circles she was considered to be ‘on the shelf ’. Another asked when her Prince Charming would come along, or even her Mr Right, for that matter.
