According toExpress, when the Princess Royal was asked about her thoughts on the impending birth of Prince William and Kate's firstborn son in 2013, she said:
"Nothing to do with me, but it’s very good news."
The publication reported that royal fans responded on Twitter at the time, calling the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip "miserable."
One said "strange comment, don’t understand her" while another wrote: "How rude and disrespectful!!!"

Whether or not the comment bothered the Duchess of Cambridge remains up for debate, as Kate is regularly spotted engaging in lively conversation with William's aunt at royal events.
The official statement from Buckingham Palace regarding Prince George’s birth read:
"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm.
"The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz.
"The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight."
Princess Anne was reportedly rude to Kate Middleton upon the birth of Prince George.

In particular, Prince Charles appeared to be over the moon at the time of his first grandchild's birth.
According toExpress, he said "Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild.
"It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.
"Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future."

The Prince of Wales is now a grandfather to four children, to the Cambridge children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
