Although the Duke of Edinburgh's son Prince Charles expressed his "worry" over his 97-year-old father driving, his daughter Anne has come under fire for her cold response to questions about Philip's wellbeing.
New Idea’s podcast “Royals” hears from journalists Rebecca Hyde and Angela Mollard, as they react to Princess Anne's flippant response in regards to her father's health.
In a public appearance in Lancashire on Friday, Princess Royal, in response to a question about how The Duke of Edinburgh was following the crash, reportedly said, "I’ve no idea, you know where I am, the same place as you."
The podcast "Royals" discusses the incident with Mollard asking: “Can you believe it? This is why the royal family get such a bad rap.”
She continues: “This is the Duke of Edinburgh’s daughter, his own child coming out with such a sharp-tongued response.”
To which Hyde says: “So cold!”
Miraculously no one was seriously injured in the crash that saw Philip’s Land Rover overturn in the collision near the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
Philip and a passenger believed to be his protection officer were unharmed, but the two women in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
