Back in July it was reported that Fergie turned to Princess Anne for support when she faced criticism during her marriage to Prince Andrew.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward says the Duchess of York was "deeply upset" in the early days of her marriage and asked Anne for help.
"She was accused her of being a ‘parasite’ who spent all her time on holiday," Seward wrote.
According to the royal commentator, Fergie wasn't able to receive enough support from her husband.
“What can I do? Andrew tells me to take no notice, but he’s away on his ship, not in the midst of things," the Duchess of York said.
Fergie was prompted to try and get in contact with Princess Anne in an attempt to get more involved in royal duties.
"In desperation she asked her Equerry to speak to the Princess Royal’s private secretary, to enquire if there were any requests Anna was unable to fulfil, that Sarah could reasonably do instead.”
