Prior to becoming engaged in 2010 and wed in a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey in 2011, Prince William and Kate Middleton went through their own fair share of relationship issues.
Although they may look like a picture perfect family having welcomed three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - into the world, William used to have some "second thoughts" about his future with his now-wife.
In the 2011 book The Making of a Royal Romance by Katie Nicholl, it is claimed that William sat down to have a "frank" conversation with the Queen and his father Prince Charles.
Nicholl claimed, "William had been having second thoughts and sat down with his father and his grandmother to have a frank discussion about his future with Kate."
The discussion came after William cancelled Christmas plans he had with Kate, which left her in tears.
Some advice he was given by his father and grandmother was, "not to hurry into anything."
The royal couple struggled through a number of break ups throughout their on-off relationship before finally committing to each other once Will popped the question during a trip to Kenya in 2010.
A few weeks after the engagement, the pair announced the news to the world with Kate proudly displaying Princess Diana's sapphire engagement ring.
