“There, they joined children from four local schools for activities taking part in activities designed to educate young people on environmental protection and wildlife conservation.”
Royal fans were also quick to point out a glaringly obvious typo in a recent quote shared by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their Sussex Royal Instagram account.
In the post, the Duchess of Sussex shared a quote from Maya Angelou, the US poet and civil rights activist, which read as:
“Each time a women stands up for herself without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.”
The Duke and Duchess added the caption:
“Maya Angelou was an American poet, singer, civil rights activist and was hailed as a new kind of memoirist - inspiring people around the world as one of the first African-American women who openly discussed their personal life in order to help others.
“These words, used in The Duchess’ speech on the opening day of the Southern Africa Tour in Nyanga, South Africa, surrounded by the inspiring Mbokobo girls, should always be a reminder that no matter how big or small, your voice has a purpose.”
While the post was met with wide support (and more than 150, 000 likes), many of their Instagram followers noted the typo in the famous quote, as the first "women" was spelled "woman" in the original quote from Maya Angelou.
According to the post, one follower commented, “Woman is singular, women is plural, please fix first sentence, embarrassing!” while another wrote, “Each time a ‘women’ stands up? Come on, you’re royalty. Please proofread.”
They were joined by several other followers, however many praised the Duchess for sharing the empowering message.
“Thank you Meghan for this important reminder to women all over the world!” wrote one fan.
Another added, “Great quote from a great woman. Meghan we stand with you.”
“Maya was a true icon. Just as you are Meghan,” said another.
