According to Express.co.uk, one of the setbacks that presented itself early on in the relationship was Philip's love for pranks.
A source revealed to the publication that while most of these practical jokes were harmless, there was one prank that caused Queen Elizabeth II much distress.
“Philip hid a corgi in a desk cupboard and when the Queen asked him where it was, he said he didn’t know," the source says.
“But then the dog whined after hearing the Queen’s voice, so Philip let it out and it ran to her.”
Apparently, the monarch was so furious she told off her husband in front of their guests at Buckingham Palace, reportedly telling the Duke of Edinburgh to “stop showing off to guests."
The incident caused extra amounts of tension as it is claimed Philip turned to a guest and said " “Who does she think she is?” following the Queen's reprimand.
Oh dear, that doesn't sound too good.
Understandably the Queen now has a 'no prank' policy.
