While Prince Harry may have travelled halfway across the world and battled through the Sydney wind and rain to promote The Invictus Games – a cause he is so passionate about, scandal was brewing surrounding disgraced games ambassador Crissy Ashcroft.
‘Disgusted’ members of the Australian team had threatened to boycott the event if former The Voice contestant Crissy remained one of the faces of the games, following revelations that she embellished her war record.
In the wake of the awful allegations, Crissy did not appear to show at an important meeting held by Harry at Admiralty House on Wednesday.
Crissy’s absence would no doubt have left Harry devastated that the Invictus Games – an international sporting event dreamt up by the prince for military veterans who have suffered an injury or illness – has hit the headlines.
Just two weeks earlier, retired army corporal Crissy faced allegations that she’d allowed her army duties to be exaggerated, after an officer deployed alongside her claimed she only worked as a clerk in the finance office – and didn’t see any physical combat.
