After months of lawyers drawing up the watertight agreement, Harry made a sudden U-turn at the last minute. There are several clauses in the contract that he wasn't happy about, particularly one concerning Meghan not providing children - a move sources say made Harry tear up the contract, despite his future wife agreeing to sign.
Insiders have revealed how the royals' lawyers have called an emergency summit with the Queen. This follows fears a divorce from the American actress could not only cost the family millions of pounds, but could also see them come up against a string of legal loopholes, which could potentially lead to them being forced to dissolve.
According to The Sun, a sources said Harry would not safeguard his millions as there was no need. 'There was never any question in Harry's mind that he would sign a prenup,' a friend of the prince said.
'He's determined that his marriage will be a lasting one, so there's no need for him to sign anything.'
The admission comes after rumours surfaced that the Queen wanted Harry to protect his assets from the previously divorced pretty brunette, which left Meghan feeling hurt.
Meghan Markle is worth approximately $7 million amassed from her acting career.
Harry was given around $18 million from his mother Princess Diana, and is believed to have further $36 million in assets.
'Both Harry and Meghan have assets to protect. Given divorce rates, it's worth couple's having a frank discussion about what each is bringing to the party before signing that marriage register,' weighed in newspaper columnist Sophie Money-Coutts.
