Prince Charles sends heartfelt message to Australians
The royal responds following devastating bushfires
Prince Charles has expressed his deep affection and concern for Australians, in an Instagram message following recent devastating bushfires.
Noting how early in the season the disasters are now striking, the royal spoke on behalf of his wife Camilla in expressing both of their concern.

‘My wife and I were so greatly concerned to hear that the bushfire season has started with such devastating impact in Australia, and that such a large number of people have already been so cruelly affected,’ he wrote.
‘We feel deeply for all of those affected who have suffered so much and whose property has been lost in these terrible infernos, as well as having immense admiration for the first responders and other agencies who so brilliantly rise to the challenge while supporting those in need.

‘The devastating impact of accelerating climate change is increasingly an alarming threat-multiplier in so many people’s lives around the world and our special thoughts and affection are with all Australians at such a very difficult time.’
The Prince of Wales is set to arrive in Japan on Tuesday to attend to ceremonial enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.
Her phobia has meant the Duchess often will miss royal engagements with Prince Charles and has led to her cutting her overseas trips short in the past, including the couple's visit to Australia in April 2018.
