While attending the 50th anniversary of the Pirelli tyre factory in Carlisle, guests were quick to notice the 70-year-old was wearing a small bandage on his right thumb.
The very minor injury appears to be something he most likely sustained while doing what he loves most - gardening.
Chatting to the BBC in 2018, Prince Charles revealed his passion for gardening and organic farming stems from his childhood.
"I suspect it was probably partly to do with my grandmother's wonderful garden at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park where I spent a lot of my childhood," he explained to presenter Adam Frost when he invited him to Highgrove House.
"I remember being absolutely riveted as a child wandering about looking at all the plants."
He continued: "We had as children, my sister and I, a little plot at the back of Buckingham Palace garden where we grew vegetables and things."
