While Sarah wore a bright yellow dress, teal headpiece and clutch, and purple shoes, Andrew's outfit went perfectly with the Duchess' causing questions around whether they had conferred over what to wear for the occasion.
Andrew wore the customary top hat and tails, and sported a yellow flower in his lapel.
It was the addition of this yellow flower, which matched his ex-wife's dress, that caused the biggest buzz - as well as their overly familiar body language at the event.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, body language expert Judi James said the famous exes appear to be much more than just friends after their Ascot appearance on Friday.
“From the yellow rose in his lapel matching the colour of her dress to the rather relaxed body language displays together that still look heavily suppressed as though avoiding any obvious give-always, Prince Andrew and Sarah look far more like 'currents' than 'exes' here,” Judi said.
“They seem to avoid actual eye contact here but proximity doesn't seem to be a problem and Sarah's raised chin, warm smile and splayed feet as she poses beside Andrew suggests confidence rather than awkwardness," she added.
Rumours around a royal reconciliation have been circulating for months, with various clues emerging that the couple are back together.
Andrew and Sarah were married in a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey in 1986, only to divorce 10 years later.
The couple share two daughters together, Princes Beatrice, 30, and Princess Eugenie, 29.
The exes have always remained close since they split, leading many to suspect the pair are secretly back together.
