“Moore is a long-time friend of Eugenie’s parents, Sarah, the Duchess of York, and Prince Andrew,” reported People.
“She even attended a birthday celebration for Princess Beatrice in the past.”
However, despite the reported friendship between the trio, sources close to Fergie, 59, report that the disgraced royal has always secretly hoped that she and 58-year-old Andrew would get back together eventually, but Demi’s emergence on the scene has got her doubting her chances.
“Andrew’s close friendship with Demi has definitely been a bone of contention with Fergie,” a source tells New Idea.
“Fergie knew they were friends – after all, he invited her to the Chelsea Flower Show a couple of years back. But she was really hit for six when Andrew insisted on inviting Demi to Eugenie’s wedding.
“It really set off alarm bells for Fergie – thinking they were more than friends.”
Last month Fergie admitted that she still sees Andrew – who she married in 1986 and divorced in 1996 – as her soulmate and best friend.
“He’s a great man and a first-rate father and the bestest friend,” she told US magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
“I love him. He’s my soulmate. It’s actually what we said in front of God at the altar: we honour and respect each other until death do us part.
“The only thing is, he has girlfriends and I have boyfriends,” Sarah said.
And according to the Mirror, Demi – who is first believed to have met Andrew after forming a friendship with Fergie over their shared interest in the spiritual practice of Kabbalah – is just the type of woman the prince is attracted to and bears a striking resemblance to one of his exes, Koo Stark.
However, any thoughts about taking their friendship to the next level appear to have been dashed by Demi – not to mention Fergie’s past indiscretions.
“There are still so many ghosts in the closet with Fergie.
“Andrew will always love her because she’s the mother of his children, but after so much betrayal he’s not sure he can trust her,” continues the source.
“And now that he has Demi in his life, and their friendship has really blossomed over recent years to be a very close bond.
“Demi is the reason that Andrew hasn’t 100 per cent reconciled with Fergie – he just wants to spend time with Demi more, it’s as simple as that.”
