Kate Middleton and Prince William have come under fire after photographs of their four-year-old son Prince George playing with a toy gun surfaced.
Immediately after the pictures emerged, Twitter users had a lot of opinions on the young prince's toy, many shocked that he was allowed to openly play with such a controversial toy.
Parenting expert and author of The Gentle Discipline Book, Sarah Ockwell-Smith, told The Independent, 'I understand why gun play worries parents, however research shows that any aggression demonstrated while engaging in 'war play' is not carried over into real life. ie: kids who play with guns become no more violent than those who don't.'
George also spent a lot of time playing with a giant rainbow-coloured slinky, and chasing his younger sister, Princess Charlotte, around.
Kensington Palace has not yet responded to the backlash.
