While many wouldn't think twice about the outfits, those who followed Princess Diana closely would know that the People's Princess avoided the brand after her divorce because it reminded her too much of Charles and Camilla's affair.
The reason? The brand's logo featuring linked C's, as Diana once explained to Australian designer Jayson Brundson.
“I asked why, and she said, ‘It’s Camilla and Charles,’” Brundson said of Diana's hesitancy to wear Chanel.
"It was definitely the timing, it being post-divorce. She would have seen linked C’s and they would have just reminded her of Charles and Camilla."
So, just a pair of heels, or a subtle statement?
