“I think it’s all about being healthy and happy,” she says.
“It’s not about who has the slimmest body and the best legs ... I’ve lost a couple of friends
of late, so I know there are more important things in life than going to the gym every day and being worried about your hair and makeup, and how slim your body is.
"I’m just happy that I’m still here!”
Always one to encourage ladies to feel great at every age, Patti took on the challenge of Dancing with the Stars “to give all the old girls out there a bit of incentive to kick their heels up”.
Patti also credits keeping busy with work – most recently her cameo on Neighbours – for staying in shape.
“Being an old entertainer, I always had to be conscious of my appearance,” she says.
“I joined Channel Nine whenI was only 15, and being that young and on staff, you just did what you were told regarding your image, and I always had to be very conscious of my appearance.
"I’m glad I don’t have to worry so much about it these days.”
And the secret behind her positive outlook?
“My motto is: All things in moderation.”
