Now Jason Whittle, a 44-year-old father-of-three who lives in Missouri, is seeking a DNA test to prove he’s Swayze’s son.
He was allegedly conceived during a one-night stand between his then-underage mother, Bonnie Kay, and then-20-year-old Swayze in the early 1970s. Bonnie passed away from cancer in 2012 but not before telling him the truth, relatives reveal to Globe.
Swayze died of cancer in 2009, leaving his entire $40 million estate to his wife, Lisa Niemi.
Sources tell Globe that Jason could make a legal move for a chunk of the late actor’s fortune.
“He could make a legal claim for his inheritance,” celebrity attorney Raoul Felder tells Globe.
A source adds, “I hope he does pursue his rightful inheritance.”
According to Globe, there has been upset between Swayze’s widow Lisa and his family for years.
Lisa says neither of these claims are true, the publication reports.
But few can deny a resemblance exists between Jason and Patrick.
After viewing side-by-side photos of the two, plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn tells Globe they both have similar eye shape and color, the same noses and the same lips.
“Both of them have a forehead shape that matches each other as well,” Dr. Youn says.
Bonnie’s mom, Lebetta Whittle, tells Globe that Bonnie was 15 years old when she met Swayze, then a handsome dancer and former high school football player, at Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks in 1972.
“She told me he wanted her to run away with him,” Lebetta says. “But she was way too young and told him he could get in trouble for doing that. It was a short relationship, and she said she stayed there all night.”
“She had sex with this guy named Patrick, and later she said he was doing acting,” Bonnie’s brother Ron tells Globe.
Lebetta says the family is behind Jason finding out the truth, adding: “He looks like him. He’s got all Patrick’s ways. “
