A two-year-old girl, who was the recipient of a heart transplant, was killed in what police are calling a murder suicide.
Sinking Spring Borough Police Department officers were we sent to check on the ‘welfare’ of the Short family over the weekend.
After forcing their way into the home, officers discovered the bodies of Mark and Megan Short, along with their three children, Liana, 8, Mark, 5, and Willow 2, Berks County District Attorney Facebook page reports.
All the family members died of gunshot wounds, and ‘a handwritten note was discovered in the home which appeared to be a “murder/suicide” note.’
According to WFMZ, it’s unclear who fired the shots.
The family made headlines in 2014 when their youngest child, Willow, survived a risky heart transplant when she was just one-week old.
