Two seven-year-olds with Down syndrome say they’ll be “best mates forever”.

Heartbroken whenever they have to say goodbye

Two children with Down syndrome have made a touching video describing their friendship.

Will Schwagermann and Lily McCain bonded over their shared condition and are such good friends they find it hard to say goodbye to each other.

In the video, produced by Special Books for Special Kids, Wil’s mum Nikki said the pair were devastated whenever they had to say goodbye.

‘It’s like their hearts break every time.’

‘When they see each other in the morning it’s like they haven’t seen each other for months.’

The pair from Western Australia enjoy sleepovers and playdates. They say their favourite thing to do is bake pancakes and Will suggested Lily was in love with him!

Both agree they’ll be “best friends forever”.
