Anias and Jadon McDonald were born last September attached by the crown of their heads.

In a $2.5 million operation taking 20 hours, the boys will be separated by one of New York’s top surgeons.

Mum Nicole says she could keep the boys how they are but knows they’ll have a better life if separated.

But she knows the dangers: ‘This is so hard. I’m not going to sugarcoat it.’

The pair, who have a three-year-old brother, are technically “craniopagus twins”. Most are stillborn.

Says the surgeon: ‘It’s big, It’s doable, but it’s going to be tedious.’
