They’re engaged to be married and on Tuesday inspirational burns survivor Turia Pitt gave fans a glimpse of what they’re missing – as she shared a topless snap of her fiancé holding their newborn baby.
Taking to Instagram, where she posted it to 746,000 followers, Turia shared the heartwarming picture of fiancé Michael Hoskin with their adorable baby boy Hakavai.
‘Madonna with child’, she teasingly captioned the snap.
Taking to social media with a more sobering message a day earlier, Turia reminded her followers just how far she’s come since she was badly burned in a bushfire in 2011.
‘This is me crossing the Kona Ironman World Championships finish line in 2016. Almost exactly five years to the day that doctors told me I would never run again,’ Turia wrote alongside an image of her completing the impressive feat.
‘My journey has been a challenging one. But ultimately an incredibly rewarding one.
‘Because when you set out to achieve something that really matters to you, and you push through the grind of it, day in and day out, to finally get to that end result, you learn so much about yourself,’ Turia went on.
‘You learn what you’re truly capable of…. and it’s always more than you thought possible.’
Earlier this month Turia – who gave birth to her first child in December – gave an intimate insight into her life as a new mum.
Sharing some candid revelations in her weekly newsletter, Turia said she’d been taking time to jot down some words about her experience.
‘I don’t want to forget this time, and writing has felt good,’ Turia revealed – explaining she wanted to share some of her words with her followers.
Turia went on to talk about one particular incident with her newborn bub.
‘You were screaming uncontrollably. I’d checked your nappy,’ wrote of one experience with her baby boy.
‘Checked if you were too hot or too cold. Tried to feed you. Tried a dummy on you.
‘Your little face was screwed up and red and when you cried all I could see was your gums.
‘My poor darling. What’s bothering you?
‘I took you out onto the balcony and held you and we both looked at the black cockatoos and listened to the ocean.’
Turia went on to say that she then started to sing to her son – a Bob Marley song.
‘And you looked right at me. And you smiled. And you laughed. As if to say: “Mum, don’t worry. Everything’s gonna be alright”,’ Turia wrote
‘So now, whenever I’m stressed, overwhelmed, anxious or just flustered as f***, I pick you up, sing that song, breathe in your intoxicating scent and remind myself not to get too far ahead of right here, right now.
‘Stay in the moment Turia, and enjoy each and every one of them.’
