Susan Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri Martino has revealed her baby son suffered a crack to his skull after being dropped on his head by his night nanny.
Eva says she was woken by the “sound of his head hitting the floor and hysterical piercing screams” when her son Major was dropped.
The three-month-old spent two days in hospital with bleeding on the brain but is now “completely fine” according to Eva.
Eva, who runs the website HappilyEvaAfter.com, wrote that the accident was harrowing and she and her husband Kyle were fearful for their son. ‘To say these were the most traumatic and anxious two days of my life is an understatement.’ she wrote.
Eva, 31, also has a daughter, Marlowe Mae, aged two.
She and her husband have forgiven the night nurse for making a “very human mistake”.
Eva said it could happen to anyone and hospital staff told her it happened more often than you’d like to hear.
