In a horrifying case of incest, a North Carolina mother and her son have been arrested after having sexual intercourse with each other.
44-year-old Melissa ‘Missy’ Kitchens and her son, Shaun Thomas Pfieffer, 25, were arrested within a day of each other after the pair were alleged to have had been having an incestuous relationship.
According to arrest documents, the mother and son had sex in August, although it is not yet known how this information came to light.
In a further twist, Shaun is said to live with both his mother and his wife, Shannon Roman in Asheville, North Carolina.
Just last month, Shaun – who is the father of a toddler son – posted a picture to Facebook of his mother posing in their family home.
And in the comment section of another picture Shaun had posted of himself and his son, Melissa wrote,
‘Can’t get over how handsome you are,’ whilst further going on to hint at the family drama.
‘Just trying To Brighten The Mood—- Things are Very Stressful and I Love You and I Respect Any Decision— As Long as your Happy and Safe………. I miss you& wish I had more time w you…… Your Very Valuable and Hopefully The Stresses—- Will get better,’ she wrote.
Shaun’s wife also took to Facebook last month, sharing a post that that suggests she may have forgiven her husband.
‘When you truly care for someone, their mistakes never change your feelings because it’s the mind that gets angry but the heart still cares’.
Incest in the state of North Carolina carries a sentence of between 10-41 months in prison.
Both mother and son’s court dates are scheduled for later this month.
