Sara Connor: ‘I want to protect the victim’

Shock twist in Bali murder case

In a startling twist, the Australian woman suspected of taking part in the murder of a Bali cop is claiming that she did not try to attack the policeman, but instead that she had been trying to protect him from her British boyfriend.

Sara Connor, 45, and a mother of two boys from Byron Bay, along with her British boyfriend David James Taylor, were arrested a week ago after being named as suspects for the murder of policeman Wayan Sudarsa on Kuta beach.

While Connor had previously claimed that she did not attack Sudarsa, but just tried to separate the fighting men, now she is apparently taking it a step further, saying that she was trying to protect the Bali policeman

‘She said to me after she make a little bit of a reconstruction there, only between us, ‘I want to protect the victim,’ said Connor’s laywer, Erwin Siregar, as quoted by ABC Australia.

She also said, ‘I want to separate between David Taylor and the victim and in this case I just want to protect the victim and so I am not guilty.’
