Parents stumped by four-year-old daughter’s VERY tricky homework question

Do you get the right answer?

Most parents will understand the stress of having your child ask for help with their homework, only for you to be unsure of the answer. Now, a mother from Plymouth has revealed how she was left completely stumped over her FOUR-YEAR-OLD’s homework…and so was most of the Internet.

Sharing to Facebook, mother Annie Jordan wrote: ‘Right please someone tell me what the last one is, because I literally don’t have a clue.’

The homework sheet features a series of images, with students required to write what they are in the boxes next to them.

The first five answers, which were all three-letter words such as ‘pan’ and ‘tap’, had already been filled in by the kindergartner.

The last image features an ice rink. Many commenters suggested that the answer be ‘ice’. However, this was quickly disproved as the top of the worksheet says that all words must be ‘CVC’ words.

CVC stands for consonant, vowel, consonant.

Other suggestions for the final picture included ‘net’, ‘wet’ and ‘rink’, although some suggested that the latter did not fit into the CVC pattern.

Ms Jordan later confirmed that the correct answer was ‘rink.’

One Facebook user explained the answer, ‘In phonics this would count as a CvC as three sounds r i nk’.
