‘One-punch’ horror: Dad died after being knocked out by son

There was ‘a brief verbal exchange’ before the attack.

A father allegedly punched in the face by his son has died.

Mark English, 53, was punched on Monday afternoon opposite Brisbane Central train station about 4pm and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Sadly, doctors couldn’t stop his bleeding and he died on Tuesday, The Brisbane Times reports.

English’s son, Morgan Isles-English was charged with grievous bodily harm, but those charges have now been upgrade to unlawful striking occasioning death.

The police allege Mark and his son were involved in ‘a brief verbal exchange’ before the attack. According to reports they hadn’t seen each other for four years.

Morgan appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning, where he was seen to break down and cry.

The 25-year-old was heard telling his mum that he loved her.

His mother mouthed back, ‘I love you too,’ but refused to comment to the media.
