An Italian mum has been sentenced to jail for killing her son after he discovered she was having an affair with his grandfather.
Veronica Panarello will spend 30 years behind behind bars for strangling her eight-year-old son with with electrical cables and leaving is body in a gully, Metro reports.
The woman then lied to police, in an attempt to fool them into thinking her son had been abducted from school. CCTV footage at the school didn’t support her claims.
When Panarello finally confessed to the 2014 murder she said her husband’s dad helped her to kill the boy after he caught them having sex.
The grandfather, however, has denied all claims.
‘It is just another lie of that crazy woman,’ he said according to the Daily Mail.
‘That accusation is something completely out of this world. I went mad for my grandson, my little angel.
‘Now there’s a need for peace and justice. My stomach turned upside down, downgrading a grandfather’s love.’
