During a segment on Studio 10 the mum-of-two revealed she had an unexpected bowel movement while in labour – and Australian women everywhere can’t help but praise the television host!

While chatting about the embarrassing things wives make their husbands do, Jess opened up about something that happened in the labour ward.

‘You have a baby and your husband sees you poo when you have a baby,’ she revealed.

She continued, ‘The thing is, it happens, and it doesn’t matter, and you don’t care. I so did not care. Beforehand I did, but it doesn’t matter!’

Fellow host Sarah Harris, who has a nine-month old son of her own, supported Jess’ comments admitting it is a topic most mothers worry about because no one talks about it.

Dr Natasha Andreadis, a gynaecologist and fertility specialist, told Kidspot that doing a poo during labour is ‘very, very common.’

Often a poo is delivered before a baby. It is a sign the baby is soon to arrive,’ Dr Andreadis says.

‘It’s natural! As the baby is descending the birth canal, it puts massive pressure on the pelvic floor, which expels any poo that is in the rectum. The more poo in the rectum at the time of delivery, the more poo you expect to see,’ Dr Andreadis adds.

Now, Australian women have commended Rowe for her brave confession and some have evenly bravely shared their own stories.
