Twin sisters Sarah Mariuz and Leah Rodgers didn’t plan on falling pregnant together, and they certainly didn’t plan on giving birth on the same day either.
But as chance would have it, Sarah and Leah, gave birth to their first children last Thursday at 1:18am, despite living in difference time zones.
Speaking to Today, Leah said, ‘We’ve always lived in separate places, but all of us — we have two sisters — are very close in age and very close.’
‘But certainly there’s another connection at the twin level.’
The sisters planned to tell each other their news on Thanksgiving last year, but when Leah saw her sister, she immediately knew.
‘She showed up to my front door and I welcomed her and Nick [Sarah’s husband] inside,’ said Leah.
‘And I had this crazy twin intuition — I call it my ‘twintuition’ — and I knew she was pregnant, too.’
To their surprise, they were due fours days apart.
Leah gave birth first to a baby boy last week in Denver Colorado at 1:18 a.m, while Sarah’s daughter was born at 1:18 a.m., in California.
When asked if the pregnancies were planned Leah said: ‘We were at our older sister’s wedding recently, and, well, two pregnant chicks together, people couldn’t stop talking about this.’
‘They kept asking us, “Was it planned?” No! It was kind of entertaining.’
