Horror details have emerged of the accident that almost claimed the life of Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie.
Contrary to initial reports that the child was injured on a hunting trip, it has been confirmed that Maddie was driving an ATV on the family’s property when she swerved to avoid a drainage ditch and the vehicle flipped into a nearby pond, quickly going underwater.
The accident was witnessed by mum Jamie Lynn and step father Jamie Watson, who both leapt into the lake and struggled to free the 8 year old from the submerged vehicle.
Sources say they could not get her free from her seatbelt and safety netting. Fortunately an ambulance quickly arrived and paramedics freed her.
The child remains in hospital, with the family this morning asking for prayers.
Meanwhile, Maddie’s aunt Britney Spears has posted a heartfelt message, simply writing: ‘Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece.’
