A young girls has been left blind in one eye after being attacked by a magpie in Queensland.
Imogen Lidell and her mum Jodi were on a bike ride last month when suddenly the magpie swooped.
‘We were riding along having a great afternoon, and all of a sudden I saw a magpie sort of coming from behind. I thought it was going to go past and it veered abruptly around in front of her face and pecked her in the eye,’ says Jodi.

Imogen was rushed to hospital in Rockhampton and flown to Brisbane for surgery.
Her mother says her vision is negligible and she’s telling her story as a warning to others through the magpie season.
‘If she’d been wearing glasses that day, this would be a complete non-event.’
