In an interview with The Sunday Times, father Gabriel Rodriguez said, ‘We don’t have anger in our family.’

Adding,  ‘Since this guy’s in jail, hopefully for as long as possible, we just keep on with our own lives. I wouldn’t like to see him come out, I don’t think he would make a contribution to our society.’

Rodriguez’s eight-year-old daughter Sofia Rodriguez-Urrutia Shu was found dead in a toilet at a Perth shopping centre in 2006.

Dante Wyndham Arthurs, who was 21 at the time, followed Sofia in the bathroom where he strangled her to death and sexually assaulted her.
