Not only will the 34-year-old pocket rocket co-host one of the most hotly anticipated shows, Australian Spartan, and work on the high-profile Winter Olympics and Commonwealth Games, but in just two months she will tie the knot with long-time love Neil Varcoe.

With the wedding set to take place on their newly renovated country property, Warramba, in April, Edwina reveals to New Idea the pair are already talking about starting a family!

‘Absolutely, we’d love to have a family,’ she spills. ‘I’m 34 and all of my friends are having kids so it’s definitely on the cards. It’s not in the calendar but it’s on the cards.’

The popular presenter and her fiancé, Sydney journalist Neil, announced their engagement in April last year and will walk down the aisle almost exactly a year later.

‘My sister lives overseas so there was only one week in April that she could come back, so we were locked into that date,’ Edwina says. ‘Unfortunately, it’s fallen into a pretty busy time but it’s OK because I’m a pretty organised person!

‘We’re about to send out the invitations, which will be really fun because then it will feel real.’

Hosting a three-day ‘festival- style’ celebration, the couple will have dinner at the local pub the night before they marry in a Catholic ceremony under a tree on their property.

‘We’re going to light a fire at night-time, nice and relaxed,’ Edwina says.

In fact, it will be so relaxed the bubbly blonde isn’t even wearing her wedding dress to the reception! ‘I bought some pants to get changed into,’ she says, laughing.

‘I just love pants, and why would I bother keeping my dress on all night? That’s kind of annoying!

‘So I’ve got wedding pants!’

However, Edwina may need to enlist the help of a tailor, admitting that she lost some weight after filming the upcoming first season of Australian Spartan alongside co-hosts Hamish McLachlan and Wendell Sailor.

‘I reckon I’ve shed a couple of kilos since the show,’ she confesses. ‘It’s hugely inspiring to watch these people who are so incredibly fit. There is absolutely no doubt it has inspired me to go to the gym a lot more.

‘A few of the athletes asked me to train with them after the season…maybe I’ll give it a crack!’

Catch Edwina on Australian Spartan, coming soon to Seven.
